Staff Laptops

Modified on Thu, 9 Apr at 2:24 PM

At Crestwood, teaching staff and some select support staff will be issue with either a Windows Laptop or a Chromebook depending on their needs. If you require a laptop but haven't been issued one,

please submit a request through our ticket system.

Before you are issued a laptop you will be required to read and sign either a Staff laptop or Chromebook Agreement. You can find a copy of one of these agreements below:

Staff Laptop Loan Agreement

Please read through the following terms and conditions that apply during the staff laptop loan agreement period:

  1. The laptop remains the property of Crestwood Community School and is only for the use of the member of staff it has been issued to.

  2. All material on the laptop is subject to review by School staff. If there is a request, by staff or Police, the School will provide access to the laptop and personal files associated with the user of the laptop.

  3. The laptop comes with a number of software applications pre-installed. Users of the laptop are not authorised to install new software applications without notifying IT staff. All data will be wiped and replaced with the standard pre-installed applications when the laptop is returned to the School.

  4. If the member of staff leaves the School the laptop and associated accessories must be returned in full working order. Failure to return the laptop and / or accessories will result in appropriate action being taken.

  5. All laptops are covered by an initial manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty covers manufacturer’s defects that occur during normal operation of the laptop. It does not cover accidental damage, negligence, abuse or malicious damage. Before any claim is made against warranty, School staff will re-image the laptop to rule out software corruption.

  6. Laptop’s that are damaged or lost by neglect, abuse or malicious act, will require reimbursement. The Head Teacher will determine whether replacement is appropriate and/or whether or not the staff member is responsible for repair or replacement costs. Any problems, vandalism, damage, loss or theft of the laptop must be reported immediately to the School.

  7. Laptop’s taken off of the School premises are not covered by the School insurance and therefore should be covered under your household insurance policy.

  8. Should any faults occur the School IT staff must be advised as soon as possible so they may undertake any necessary repairs. Under no circumstances should staff attempt to fix suspected hardware faults. Should the laptop need replacing, it will be replaced with one of a similar age where possible.

  9. LEA and School policies regarding appropriate use, data protection, computer misuse and health and safety must be adhered to by all users of the laptop.
