‘Incompatible Database’ error

Modified on Wed, 3 Jan at 12:15 PM

When you attempt to open SIMS and it pops up with an error saying ‘Incompatible database’, this means that your SIMS isn’t up to date. If this has popped up, it’s likely that your device is already in a queue to be updated automatically. However, it’s worth checking this to ensure you are in the queue. To do this, double-click this icon:at the bottom right of your screen (near the time & date). This will open a small window.

Ensure that SIMS is closed, and then in the window that you opened, click ‘Deploy Now’. This will either start the SIMS update straight away, or let you know that you are in a queue and that an update is waiting to deploy. Either way, you should now wait about 10 minutes before trying to open SIMS again.

If you’ve waited a total of about 20 minutes and it still isn’t working, let IT Support know as the update may have gotten stuck.
